Jonny’s First Sleepover

One of Jonny’s best friends from kindergarten turned 6 a few days ago, and invited Jonny to a sleepover.  His mom spoke to us first to see if we thought Jonny would enjoy it.  She wanted to make sure that he wouldn’t be sad and miserable to spend the night away from home.

He was DEFINITELY not sad and miserable!  He was packed and waiting at the door a half hour before it was time to leave!

The house was strangely silent all that evening.  It turns out that Isaac is a quiet child when Jonny’s not around.  Ben enjoyed having his “little arm” left alone and Nate appreciated not having his socks pulled off every 5 minues.  The peace and quiet was nice, but at the same time we all missed Jonny.  Meanwhile, he was having a great time.  He never even phoned me at bedtime to tell me goodnight!

He arrived home early the following afternoon and our house is back to its normal decibel level.

We’re so glad he’s home!  🙂

I’ve always found a similar theme. Whenever one is missing from a household, it does make the whole house seem quieter somehow.

I’m glad he had so much fun!

I know what you mean about things being different when one is removed from the mix. When Clayton is gone, it’s different. I can’t really say it’s quieter because Sean is still making his noises but it is different. Sean walks around signing “baby” when Clayton is gone. He misses him. Glad Jonny had a good time. He looked so cute sitting there by the door. I could tell her could hardly contain his excitement!
