Chicken Dinner

Chicken Dinner

Mark and I are Gordon Ramsay fans.  Last night Mark decided to make a recipe from one of his shows “Gordon Ramsay’s F Word” that we have been watching this season (I think BBC America gets last years’ episodes).  The recipe was more involved than Mark expected, but turned out beautifully – the chicken breasts were wonderfully moist!  The veggies and the potatoes turned out well too; but that’s another recipe.

The audiologist called about the results of Ben’s ABR; it turns out that he did have significant bilateral worsening of his hearing and there was a conductive component to it.  We have to go back to have his hearing aids adjusted and he also needs to see the ENT specialist again to look for reasons for conductive hearing loss (e.g. fluid in the ears).  I wish the ENT luck: Ben’s ear canals are so tiny it’s difficult to see ANYTHING at all!

I hope I’m not jinxing us to report that Ben seems to be feeling better; still has a runny nose but tolerating full feeds again.

Isn’t it nice that Karen chronicles the dinners that I don’t ruin?
I’m glad she didn’t bring up last week – that chicken was so dry even I couldn’t eat it. The problem with watching cooking shows is that it makes you think you can cook. I suppose if she mentioned every time I DO ruin dinner (or almost burn the house down) it would take over the blog. So Karen, thank youfor only mentioning my cooking successes and not my miserable failures.

Just when I was getting jealous of a husband that could/would cook, you have to go and ruin my fantasy! (Ok, does that sound wierd talking about one’s brother?).
Glad Ben is back to full feeds. Love to all!

Believe him when he talks of almost burning the house down………….hehe………Mark those were tasty burgers though, but as I recall, we didn’t quite finish the meal………..

Well, at least I had the presence of mind to save the burgers while the stove was on fire! I certainly finished MY dinner!

Hmmmmm…….Given this rather disturbing thread I wonder if Rhoda & I should pack some canned goods to bring up. LOL

  6. kfb1 Says:

No, you can still come, just pack a fire extinguisher! 😉

So, on the night that you lot were feasting on Gordon Ramsay chicken, I was eating leftovers in the dining hall.

…I must be *crazy* for moving on-campus. I get all the fire alarms going off, except without the good food!
