Busy Weekend

Mark & Ben in StoreIsaac & Jonny in Store

Yesterday (like so many other families) we went Christmas shopping.  The stores were all packed!  We did manage to get most of our shopping done.  The pictures above were taken at “Bed, Bath and Beyond” towards the end of our expedition.  Yes, the boys are both busy playing their Gameboys – we figured they would whine less about the boringness of the store and let us shop in peace if they were occupied.

Assembling House

Last week, Mark bought a kit for a gingerbread house at Wal-Mart.  I wasn’t sure it was a good idea.  We put the house together last night, and today after church we decorated it.  It was actually a lot of fun, if a bit messy.  I think Isaac and Jonny ate more candy than they actually put on the house!  They keep asking when we are going to EAT the house.  To me it doesn’t look all that appetizing – we will see!

In other news, Ben seems to have caught a cold.  We are praying this one doesn’t last as long as the last one.  Isaac (who probably gave Ben his cold) seems to be improving every day and will be returning to school tomorrow.

It seems like everyone in the whole town has an awful cold. The neat (read: annoying) thing is that one of the symptoms of the strain at Wilson at least seems to be that everyone’s *ears* are all congested-y!

You guys are so brave facing those weekend crowds at the store 🙂 The gingerbread house looked like fun and turned out so cute! Every year I say I’m going to buy one of those kits and then always forget. Ah well, Jess would probably have it deconstructed and eaten in seconds…lol!

Alas, it’s not only there Aliyah; I caught a pretty natsy one back home too! I’m left mostly with a bad cough which is not being too kind to my asthma symtoms. I been getting up a couple of times nightly coughing and wheezing. I am trying desperately to get rid of it before my visit to PA as I’d hate to pass it on to anyone up there….

Nice house Karen; do the boys know that Rhoda & I will be visiting?

Yes, we don’t want any additional germs in our house so hopefully you will get rid of your cold before you come! 🙂
Yes, the boys know you all are visiting. We are still trying to work out sleeping arrangements…maybe you and Rhoda should hav the bunk beds! 😉
