Our First Parent-Teacher Conference

Isaac & Jonny

Yesterday was our very first meeting with Isaac’s kindergarten teacher to talk about his progress, both with schoolwork and behavior.  The meeting took place at 7:20 am which is EXTREMELY early to get us and 3 kids dressed, fed and out the door.  It was pouring rain, which didn’t help.  Miraculously, we made it on time.  Isaac was sent to play in the room next door and Jonny and Ben attended the meeting with us (and both fell asleep, poor things.)

Isaac’s report was actually very good!   His teacher reports excellent behavior – she has never had to discipline him – he always listens and does what he is told the first time, he cleans up after himself, plays well with the other kids and does his schoolwork neatly and well.  I wonder why we don’t see more of this stellar behavior at home!  Needless to say we were both very pleased that he seems to have gotten off to a great start in school.

Today, we had another gorgeous, unseasonably warm fall day.  The temperature was near 70 degrees.  I had a half-day at work which was even better.  The boys got to play outside for a bit, I went shopping for coffee and Asian cooking ingredients (in the same store!) and Isaac went to gymnastics.  We opened all the windows in the house and I got some cleaning done.   If only the weather would stay like this until spring!

The boys look so sweet together in the first pic….where was Issac dressed to go? Not to school I hope! I like the polo shirt though…is he trying to be like is Uncle Lawrence? LOL. And where was this picture taken?

Glad to hear about the good report in school. I expect he will always do well in school. He has good genes….not to mention a good family structure and lots of love….I think that counts for alot.

Will call again tommorow……seems I’m calling every day now…..I’m in St. Kitts by the way having spent a night in Antigua yesterday just for the hell of it. Look forward to seeing you for christmas hopefully.

    Give everyone my love.

Yes, that is Isaac’s school uniform. You forget it gets very cold here in the winter so he has to wear long sleeves and long pants after November 1. He also has a matching navy blue sweater he can wear with it which really gives him a “preppy” look – very cute. Hope you actually can visit, but I’ll believe it when we pick you up from the airport! – Karen.

Aw, they look adorable. Parents evenings are funny I think. My first one made me feel so old. We sat on the kids little chairs.
